You will become part of the Observability Pipeline team and contribute to the modernization of our
observability capabilities. We are on a journey to build modern services that enable developers to use
our framework as code within their existing CI/CD pipeline on an enterprise scale, to deliver full
observability throughout our digital landscape.

To succeed as Software Engineer you have:
  • knowledge and experience of Go, Java, or Python
  • experience with cloud architecture and services on Google Cloud Platform
  • knowledge of architecture concepts such as microservices, event driven architecture, cloud native
technology, terraform and open frameworks such as OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Zipkin and Jaeger
  • good knowledge in how to transform and optimize the areas of logs, traces and metrics
  • experience of working in an agile environ
ment
  • passionate about coaching others

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for designing and delivering high quality digital services
and engineering to support consumers across IKEA to be more efficient and reach the many people.
Together with your colleagues, you will coach engineers and promote modern software engineering
and development principles and practices, use proper tools, and increase automation to enable the
specified business outcomes and create a strong digital foundation for IKEAs Digital products and
business.

Among many tasks you will:
  • Design, develop and deliver solutions that support business initiatives on their Observability
journey using a combination of open standards and frameworks as well as SaaS solutions
  • Design and educate in ways of working for other engineers while encouraging good practices
when working with open source and frameworks
  • Design, develop and promote a strong observability capability offering that ensures a resilient
foundation
  • Ensure framework compliance towards legislations, policies or other requirements in order to
stay compliant from a pipeline perspective
  • Take responsibility for cooperation and align key stakeholders throughout the IKEA Group with
interdependencies towards Group Digital to develop Product/Service design and technical
roadmaps
In this role you will report to the Engineering Manager in Observability Pipeline team within the area of
Operational Intelligence.
